Rent in Playa del Carmen: Is 2 months deposit normal?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for an apartment here in Playa. Some places are asking for two months rent as a deposit. Is this typical for the area? I'm trying to budget and want to know what to expect. Thanks for any advice!

  Yeah, the aval thing is rough. Honestly, I've seen it in a few places. It definitely adds up with the deposit. Gotta be prepared for that upfront cost, for sure.
