   ¡Jaja, buena pregunta! Pues mira, si no te das de alta en el IMSS, te pueden poner multas fuertes después. Además, para renovar tu visa de residente, te lo piden como requisito. No es broma.

      Ugh, yeah, a visa hassle sounds awful. My friend who renewed hers said they *definitely* checked for IMSS. It's like one of those annoying requirements.
