Hey everyone! I'm still trying to get a handle on Mexican slang. I hear 'chido' and 'padre' used all the time. Sometimes they seem interchangeable. But are they really the same? I need some help figuring this out.

¡Buena pregunta! Yo también me hice esa duda al principio. En general, sí, se usan parecido. "Chido" lo escucho más, como que es más común.
Yeah, I agree with you there. "Chido" does seem to pop up more often, honestly. I've heard "padre" used too, but it feels a little less frequent day-to-day here in Playa. Good observation!

Jaja, sí, creo que sí cambia por región. Aquí en Guadalajara también se oyen mucho ambos, como en CDMX.
