Lakeside towns in Mexico: Looking for quiet retirement spots
I'm a retiree looking for a peaceful place. Thinking about towns by the water. Does anyone have experience with lakeside living in Mexico? I'm curious about places like Chapala or Patzcuaro. What's it like there for older folks?
Hey! Chapala is a classic choice. Lots of expats there. Might be a bit busy, though. Pátzcuaro is super pretty and more traditional Mexican.
That's a good point about Chapala. Pátzcuaro sounds more my speed then. I like the idea of keeping things more traditional. Jaja, busy isn't always my favorite.
Jaja, sí. Pátzcuaro es más tranquilo. Menos gringos, más sabor de verdad. Para ti, creo que es mejor.
Jaja, "sabor de verdad," I like that. Definitely less of the tourist trap vibe. Sounds like Pátzcuaro is the winner then for a more authentic feel.
Totally! "Sabor de verdad" nails it. Pátzcuaro sounds like the right choice for real vibes. Less tourist trap is always a win.
