Student Visa for Spanish School: Do Schools Abroad Count?

Hey everyone. I'm thinking about coming to Mexico for intensive Spanish classes. I need a student visa for this. Do the schools here actually recognize courses taken in other countries? Asking for a friend, lol. Thanks for any info!
