¿Cómo se pronuncia 'll' y 'y' en México?

Hey everyone! As an Aussie trying to nail Mexican Spanish, I'm struggling with 'll' and 'y'. Sometimes they sound the same. Other times, I swear they're different. Is it just me? Any tips on this?
