¿Es normal que se me olvide el español de mi país?

Okay, so I'm living in San Miguel and my Spanish is getting better. But sometimes I go to speak and the 'Mexican' words just pop out! Then I realize I haven't used the Spanish I learned before. Is this normal when you're learning a new dialect? Does it happen to anyone else?
