¿'No manches' o 'órale' para expresar sorpresa?
My Spanish is improving, but I still get tripped up by slang. I hear 'no manches' and 'órale' used all the time to show surprise or disbelief. They sound so similar sometimes! Which one do you guys use more?
Hey! Good question, lol. Honestly, I use "órale" way more for surprise. "No manches" feels a bit stronger, like actual disbelief. Both are super common though.
Totally agree! "Órale" is my go-to for general surprise. "No manches" definitely has that extra "whoa" factor. Good to know I'm not the only one picking up on the nuances.
Jajaja, ¡eso es! "Órale" for the everyday "wow," and "no manches" when you *really* can't believe something. Good distinction!
That's a great way to put it! "Órale" for a quick "wow" and "no manches" for that real jaw-drop moment. Makes total sense.
Jaja, ¡exacto! Me gusta esa diferencia. "Órale" es más para un "wow, qué chido". "No manches" sí es cuando de verdad te quedas así 😮. ¡Buena explicación!
Totally! That's a perfect way to describe it. "Wow, qué chido" is definitely more "órale." "No manches" really captures that jaw-drop moment. Love it!
