¿Por qué se usa tanto 'chingar' y sus derivados?

Hola a todos. Vivo en CDMX desde hace un tiempo y escucho la palabra 'chingar' y sus derivados un montón. Se usa para todo: para bien, para mal, para decir que algo está roto. Es súper versátil. ¿Ustedes la usan mucho? ¿Tienen alguna anécdota chistosa con esa palabra?
