Residency timelines - how long for permanent?

Hey everyone. I'm a remote dev here in Querétaro. Been on my temporary residency for a while now. Wondering what the typical timeline is for applying for permanent residency. Anyone have experience with this? Just trying to plan ahead.

¡Hola! Yo estoy en Mérida estudiando. Mi temporal vence pronto. Tarda como 4 años para poder aplicar a la permanente. Así que sí, planear con tiempo es buena idea.

Hey Pablo! Yeah, that four-year wait is pretty standard, from what I've heard. You can definitely renew your temporary residency. It's good they let you do that. Keeps you legal while you're waiting for the next step.
